The kashmere stage band- Our thing

"For the past four years the kashmere stage band has participated in stage band contests. throughout the state of Texas. in 1967, they won the Benny Goodman award at Sam Houston State College. In 1968, they won 1st place in sharpstown stage band festival in Houston, and the directors award at St. Mary's University Stage Band Festival in San Antonio. In 1969, they won 1st place in Sharpstown festivalm houston; 1st division at SFA stage band contest in Nacogdoches, 1st division rating in showmanship trophy at S.H.S stage band festival, Huntsville; best band traveling trophy, directors award and outstanding musician award at St. Mary's university stage band contest in San Antonio; third place trophy in round at sounds contest, sponsored by Houston Joy Cee's and Coca-Cola botteling Company., With the round of sound rating, they were awarded a T.V. appearance on channel 39, in Houston. Also many awards have been received by their individual members."
